I Still Have A Blog!!!!

Yes, it's a fact...I still have a blog. I believe I said I wanted to start posting more often, what happened with that? I don't know. I do know that lifes pace has picked up and I am busy, I might add I'm very happy these days.

Shortly after my last post, long ago and far away, I drove to south Texas and brought my dear sweet, mother-n-law or as my friend Pam would say....my mother-n-love back to Arkansas. She came for a couple of months, a trial run you might say. Guess she wanted to see what life with Dan and me is like. I tried to warn her that we live a quiet, non-dramatic lifestyle. As a rule we don't eat out. OK, there is the burger or pizza maybe every three or four months and we don't go to movies. We are active in our church and I lead a Weight Watchers Class. We kept asking her to make a permanent move here. In September she did. Life has gotten very interesting.

We are so happy to have Janie here and she has brought us so much joy. She has moved her church membership to our home church. That fact pleased us greatly. She and I attend the same Sunday School class. We've been very busy getting her situated with new medical folks. The good thing is that she likes everyone of the folks she has dealt with. The medical community here has made me proud. They are a kind, compassionate, patient group of folks. She took note of that, being that she has a medical background and knows a thing or two about the way the medical people should treat their patients. We have a couple more appointments and I think the schedule will mellow out.

Dan had back surgery this past Spring and he is once again having back issues. He is scheduled for another MRI this next week. Please keep him in your prayers. He was told a couple of surgeries ago that if this keeps going he will wind up with a fused spine or a steel rod. Dan is not known for being still and quiet. He is a man who wants.....needs to be busy. He likes being productive, believes each person should earn their keep for each day they live. Dan is a man who would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. He helps out at church, will help a neighbor in need. You get the idea. Being careful and never lifting, squatting, bending, stretching, well you might as well tell him he can't breathe. He is who he is. Again, prayers...please!!!

During the time back home I've managed to find time to pursue my interest in beading. While we were fulltiming I learned to do the peyote stitch and I've turned out many bracelets using that stitch. The beads are Miyuki Delicas, laser cut glass, very precise. That precision makes for some beautiful bracelets. Some interest was shown in my work and I now have several bracelets on display in a local shop. I'm in the process of designing pieces for our local and state football teams. Go Yellowjackets and Razorbacks!!!!!!!!

I mentioned that I lead a Weight Watchers class. I don't remember the exact date but I moved the class from the church to a bank community room. We are in a central location, right next to Micky D and a couple of steps away from Wally World. I have a great class and to date from last March the class has lost a total of 770 + pounds. Not too shabby, huh!!!!! Just today we talked about the advantages of attending a meeting. There is group support, encouragement, fresh ideas, accountabilty, strength, drive and motivation to succeed. Besides all that, the members become friends and the meeting becomes something of a social event. What's not to like about that?

Another fact I want to note here.....it was during our fulltiming life in the motorhome that I got to meet face to face with some online Weight Watcher friends. It was on a trip to Colorado, the western slopes, I met Pam, the pilot. While there I also met Ellie, the now retired power plant operator. Back here at home I met Janice, now retired from managing a lawyer's office. Each of these women in their own right are strong, independent, Christian, role models, mothers to some incredible kids and I'm so blessed, proud to call them my friends. Weight Watchers is the leading weight loss program in the world and it's so much more. I have the friends to prove it.

I enjoyed life in the motorhome. I've been asked if I miss that life. There are days I miss the tranquility of seeing wildlife and water, sunrises, sunsets, campfires.....I cherish my memories, I cherish the lifelong friendships I made. I like to think I'm in a new chapter of my life now. I'm happy being at home, able to be involved with my church family, I'm happy being in the position of leader with Weight Watchers. I've always wanted my life to make a difference and I feel like maybe, just maybe I found the place for that to happen.

I want to wish all my friends a very Merry Christmas!!!! It's all about Jesus!!!!!!!!

Oh Karon, it was SO good to read your blog! David and I just had a very nice (but short) visit with Ellie and Jim, and your ears must have been burning - I asked about you to make sure you were ok!

Prayers heading your way for Dan - poor health is not something anyone enjoys - David truly has issues with his COPD - he is on oxygen almost all the time now :(

Hope you continue to blog - it was so nice hearing from you!

Karon, it is good to read about your life and all of your adventures.

I have a blog but it is mostly about the adventures of my daughter and granddaughters. They are so busy and my life is completely immersed in their activities. We never have a dull moment.

I pray that Dan finds some relief with his back problems. I have back problems but haven't done much with it except moan and groan. Soon I must seek help.

Continue blogging so we can keep up. My blog is http://nonnajoann.blogspot.com

I am so glad that you have settled into your new chapter of life. I hope we can pass through there sometime for a much needed visit.

I hope Dan's back issues can be addressed and that he can continue to be that active person he wants to be.

Keep up the good work with WW. I know you are a great leader.

Hugs to you both and a Merry Merry Christmas to you both.

Oh, it's so good to see a new post on your blog! Glad to hear that things are going well (except for Dan. He's gotta hop on the "Healthy Train", too!)

I'm happy that your WW group is doing so well. I've made myself a pot of the WW vegetable soup to help me stay on track this week. I'm trying to reach my next mini-goal with a 52 lb. loss by Jan. 2, my anniversary. I've only got .6 to go so I know it's very do-able!

I hope your Christmas is blessed and fun all wrapped up with a pretty bow!

Take care, my new twin. Love you lots!
