Spring Brings Roses

In my last post I had pictures of snow. That snow has been replaced by green grass and roses, trees greening out, all a welcomed sight. Much has taken place, not only in my corner of the world but the world in general.

My Weight Watchers At Work class finished its ten week run. It was a great group of folks. When the class wrapped up several members had plans to go on by attending traditional classes away from the work place. My local class is going full steam ahead, another fantastic group of folks. We meet on Saturday morning and it is always so much fun. They are enjoying great success with the new program.

During the month of March Dan had back surgery. His pain got so intense he could hardly walk. There was no relief sitting, standing or lying down. He was just in a miserable state. The test and surgery revealed two ruptured disk. The doc said they took out fragments the size of ones index finger during the surgery. They also didn't know how he was walking at all...well....he just about wasn't. The surgery was a great success and he is a new person these days. He will always have to be very careful.

On the same day Dan had surgery we learned that his Mom was taken to the ER for her own back issues. Her back is fractured in three places. There has been much discussion over whether to do surgery or not. She was admitted to the hospital only to be sent home. Her lungs needed some time to clear before they would talk about surgery. During all the waiting Dan flew to Texas to be with his Mom, to be available to help her. A road trip that soon after Dan's surgery was out of the question. He was there a couple of weeks when I drove his truck to the Texas Coastal Bend. I was there a couple of nights and we came home. His Mom's surgery is on hold indefinitely. The docs are x-raying every couple of weeks....her back seems to be stabilizing. If things stay on track she will not require surgery. Your prayers for her and Dan are much appreciated.

My heart goes out to all those effected by the horrible storms around the country. We should keep all of those folks in our prayers.

The one highlight through all the tragedy regarding the weather was the Royal Wedding. This world needed something positive and happy and a wedding just fills that order. I watched the famous wedding that took place thirty years ago and I wasn't about to miss this one. It's history in the making. Besides I think they make a beautiful couple. There are just some positive things in this world, things that bring me joy.....my dear friends.....flowers......babies.....puppies.....doggy kisses...sunshine......rain drops......hugs.....rainbows anywhere but especially over the Colorado Rockies......sunrise over any body of water......and weddings.

Glad to see flowers instead of snow on your page! We can't see much but rain these days but I keep trying to remind myself that it will eventually bring green trees and flowers galore.

Glad to hear that your WW group is going well. They're lucky to have you as their leader!
