We are continuously working on our home, it is understood that it's a journey, it's the process that brings the joy. We look at being here now different from when we left six years ago. We are at peace, very happy, content even but we are making list every day, then revising them.
Dan bleached the outside of the house a few days back and the outside looks fresh, even has a sheen to it. The house is a soft yellow with white trim around the porch. Dan has also sealed nail holes in the walls and I've been washing woodwork, cabinets, doors and door facings, walls, cleaning all around so he can get to painting in the next few days. We've also removed the hardware from the kitchen cabinets so we can clean them, possibly paint them. We aren't sure how that will work but figure it's worth a try. Paint is much less expensive than new hardware, although that is the next option if the paint idea doesn't prove successful.
I"ve been asked what colors we finally decided on for the interior. Our dining room will be Red Hot. One wall in the master bedroom will also be that same red. The kitchen and breakfast rooms will be a very soft yellow, the kitchen cabinets and the remaining interior walls will be Colonial Yellow. All the woodwork will be white and all the paint is semi gloss. This is going to be very interesting. I've taken before pictures and when the painting is finished I'll add some before and after shots to the blog.
Tomorrow I'm heading off to Mississippi to hang out with a group of girlfriends for a week, some pink time. We will be kayaking, line dancing, exercising, eating all Weight Watcher friendly meals, just some great fellowship. It's my first time to go and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm way out of my comfort zone. I had considered not going due to all the work here but Dan has insisted that I go, he even wants me to go a day early. He wants me to take my time and arrive safely. The truth is he wants me out of the house so he can work his magic. Now he has me wondering what I'll come home to. Come to think of it, he is also changing the locks...could that be a sign. Maybe I should leave a window unlocked just in case. Nawwwwwww!!!! He loves to surprise me and that is what he is planning. He has admitted that part.
Our new puppy, Whitney, has adapted very well to us and to KD. Of course, KD is still running the show. They play together now and it is fun to watch. Sometimes they will get into this growling, barking frenzy and it's like they are having a conversation. I never know what it's about except it can get intense. They are so much joy!!!
Whitney in his favorite place, watching for Squirrels and Birds...he is a hunter.
Whitney and KD playing!!
Sun setting over Wally world. I thought it was very pretty.
I have a packing list for my upcoming trip. I should check that and get to packing.
Organization...list making....all good!!!!!
